The City of Kitchener (the “City”) is seeking the services of a consultant to complete a Market Analysis Study (the “Study”) to support the implementation of an updated planning framework for three Protected Major Transit Station Areas (PMTSAs) (the “Study Area”). These are:
This project, known as “Growing Together East” will complete the work begun and adopted through the “Growing Together” project which included Official Plan Amendments and Zoning By-law Amendments to introduce new Strategic Growth Area (SGA) land uses and zones within the remaining 7 PMTSAs in Kitchener. While the policy framework approved through Growing Together forms the foundation of Growing Together East, staff will continue to evaluate the unique attributes and specific needs of the Block Line, Fairway and Sportsworld PMTSAs and make policy recommendations in response. A range of technical studies must be completed to inform the planning framework including a market analysis to evaluate the existing conditions, future conditions, and recommended policy directions related to commercial and employment uses. |
